Just in time for Valentine's Day weekend, Denver-based singer Venus Cruz has assembled some of the city's finest players to reinterpret the music of that most romantic chanteuse - Sade. Music fans know Cruz from her work with Archetype, The Greg Harris Vibe Quintet, Know, Maneline and especially Future Jazz Project (FJP), which has shared stages with everyone from The Roots to George Benson to Bishop Desmond Tutu. Cruz is a gifted improviser known for her original compositions, so her take on the songs of Sade will be all but predictable.
